How to host baby shower bingo
Gift opening is the longest part of most showers, and guests at the back of the room often drift off. Bingo gives every guest a reason to watch each gift.
- Hand out cards with a pen as guests arrive. Put them on the chairs or at the gift table so nobody misses a gift.
- Ask a friend to announce gifts. The parent-to-be opens; a friend holds up each gift and says what it is, so guests can mark their cards.
- Only exact matches count. Decide before the first gift whether “Swaddle” also covers a muslin blanket. A clear rule avoids friendly arguments.
- Have two or three prizes. The first line wins a candle or a small plant; a later prize goes to the first full card.
With blank cards, give guests five minutes before opening to fill in their squares with gifts they think will appear. It takes longer, but the guesses are part of the fun, and a guest who predicts “Diaper cake” earns a laugh when it shows up.
Ways to play it
- Blank cards, guest guesses. Choose the Blank card type, or open the blank bingo card page, and print 5×5 grids with a name line.
- Baby facts bingo. Replace the gift list with facts about the parents, like where they met, and play a short round before gifts.
- Wedding guests overlap? The wedding bingo list has a bridal shower version of the same idea.
- Keep the set. Save the set on this device and print the same cards again for a second shower.
